So I'm participating in National Novel Writing Month[/b] (aka NaNoWriMo or just NaNo). It's this sort of challenge where I have to write at least 50k words of a novel during the entire month of November. The whole trick is to only focus on the quantity of the work rather than the quality. The whole thing officially starts in November 1st right at 12 am and it ends at November 30th at 11:59. Editing isn't really permitted because it should be saved for once December 1st comes along. Starting before November 1st is strictly prohibited. Outlines such as the plot, characters, and such is ok. But if it's something you're planning to add into the novel is against the rules. Fanfiction is very accepted in NaNo and that's what I'm planning to write because it's really the only I'm able to do well on. I have one idea so far and I want you guys to put some input of what I have so far. A D.Gray-Man fanfic. Featuring my OC, Jin Ae.
A peaceful morning out in the town turns tragic when a madman sets an entire house on fire, burning himself and the innocent family alive. As she decided on helping out with the murder-suicide investigation, Jin Ae finds a nearby kennel with a small child hiding and now has to take the responsibility to look after him. Guess who got forced into helping her?Interesting?

Wow. I wish you luck. 20K. That's like... 20,000. And writing for quantity not quality. Well, that's why my Corp of Discovery barely made it over it's 2K requirements. I have to write for quality, or I keep hitting the word-counter and wondering how much I have left. I really wish you luck, and I hope you win 'cause that would be amazing. Your plot idea is amazingly epic and maybe if you could, you could post some of your chapters on here for us to see your progress. Again, GOOD LUCK.
AMBER ?! DAKOTA ?! NATHAN

Thanks! I have another plot idea that could do well too. Let's see... A Gaia Online fanfic. Featuring my OC, Freya Sirad.
Her life at Durem is that of the typical NPC. An owner of a popular coffeehouse that even Gaians out of city would come to visit. All what people know about Freya Sirad is that she grew up wealthy but decided to be among the working class. Considering that it's the world of Gaia, nothing is of the ordinary. What's Freya's true story, then?

The prize is the feeling of completing the challenge! Since you already typed up 50k+ words for your novel, now it's time to edit and have your novel the best it could be. A lot of the authors that took the NaNo challenge ended up getting their novels published and some even gotten bestsellers! It's all in the matter of fun. It's free to enter and all you need to do is to sign up. Just as long as you're at least 13 to join, of course. And there's a lot of winners for each year. A good number of them are amateur young writers in the past years.

You know, you can sign up for the actual one because you just need to be 13+ to join. I personally didn't want to be in the Young Writers Program one because of the forums actually, but I signed up nonetheless. >.>

If only I would've known. Well, I have to stay on the YWP 'cause of my school, so... I guess I'll go on the regular one next year. Are you guys going to do the Script Frenzy in April? Sounds like fun to me. XD

Script Frenzy definitely sounds fun. ... I think that'll be time to make my own script for the Maximum Ride movie. XD Or maybe my other favorite book, Epic by Conor Kostick, where the entire world revolves around an MMORPG everyone plays. Or maybe even the game Mirror's Edge....
I'll definitely sign up. <3

I would work with you on Mirror's Edge. That was a great game, and there's plenty of room for a story to unfold. Other than that, I really have no reasons nor ideas for signing up. I'm perfectly content to stay with noveling for the moment. But tell me if you are doing Mirror's Edge, Kiyu, I'd love to work with you on that! And Kiyu! What's your name in NaNo? And you, Derek! I've already gotten 'Kota's name, but yours are still a mystery.

Ooh. This is a really good tip for those like me who wants to have their rough draft as perfect as it can be. Got it straight from the official site since I'm not that smart enough to figure it out. I've just written two pages worth of stuff but now I decided not to deal with it and had no idea what to do with it because that's killing 1,000 words from the face of the Earth. (Not the innocent words!!) So this tip is literally my life saver right now. XDD

Great tip, Ki. I'll have to use that. Unfortunately, I took the "lock away your inner editor" away seriously, and so I'm not going back over my work except for names and such.
Also, Derek/Emma, I sent you a friend writing buddie request. GO YOUNG WRITERS PROGRAM! XD
