Dakota took a deep breath, shaking her wings out from their pressed position against her back. She knew this was a stupid idea, but it was Halloween and nobody would think much of it. Or at least, that was what she was planning on. People assumed they were hallucinating when they say something fly across the sky, and when wings seemed to sprout from human's backs, it was a good costume. Yes, she was flirting with disaster on this dark night, but she was looking forward to it. She had heard that a few of her old... Friends, were back in town, ahd she was looking forward to running into them. She stretched her wings luxuriously, her arms stretching inthe same manner. She let out a lazy yawn, tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear as she did. She was currently dressed from head to toe in black. Her blonde hair was dyed black, pulled back into a high ponytail. She wore a black bandit mask over her eyes, giving her a look of mystery. A collared warm black shirt with laced gloves covered her torso. This was finished off with a pair of cargo pants with a silver chain and silver zippers covering it, black knee high converse underneath. Her white wings, in this situation, seemed to glow in the darkness. Dakota definately looked menacing, but she knew there would be more things to worry about than what others saw her as. Such as what the Erasers would be wearing when they slunk out of hiding. Oh, this would be a great Halloween. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - outfit: clicktags: open?!

Kelly popped a pill into her mouth, crunching it between her teeth with a disgusted look on her mouth. It wasn’t that it tasted bad; she just didn’t want to have to eat them, especially not tonight. But rules were rules and it would be a bit attention drawing if she killed everyone on the street while on a high. A bunch of little kids in stupid costumes squealed to themselves as they passed, pointing at her ‘makeup’ and giggling hysterically. She unconsciously ran her hands across her face, feeling the wiry fur that had settled across it. She had been a bit wary about doing this at first, but then realised that people would just think it was very good makeup and it was a perfect ‘costume’ for where she was going. Black fur surrounded her eyes like a bandit mask, with white fur where her eyebrows would usually be. Her nose was small and black, her teeth long and sharp and whiskers rested on her cheeks. Her fingernails were now sharp claws and she was constantly reminding herself not to swish her fluffy tail. Her small, soft grey ears poked through her hair. Apart from her ‘makeup’ she was wearing a black and white loose jersey, black skinny jeans that were covered in zippers, brown, folded high-heeled boots and a rat skull necklace. She wore a black and white bandana around her head, keeping her now black and white hair in place. “Sweet costume”, Kelly whirled around to find herself face to face with a zombie. The boy was around her age with a toothy smile and messy brown hair. She had to admit that whoever had done his makeup hadn’t done a half bad job- the wounds were pretty realistic. “You going to the club as well?” Kelly nodded, “Yeah and thanks. Yours ain’t to bad either”. The boy flashed her another toothy grin before slipping over to join the rest of his friends. Kelly huffed and looked around. The line to the club was still five blocks long and she reckoned she had an hour of aimless wondering to do before there was any point going in, even though she was actually on the list.

Dakota sensed, or rather smelled, another not-quite-human presence nearby. She saw a zombie boy walking away from girl, but it wasn't the zombie that caught her attention. It was the girl. She positively reeked of Eraser. Dakota rolled her shoulders, her wings following the movement so as to convince people standing nearby that they were somehow attached. She didn't know if she should approach the other, or just wait for her to notice her. After a little bit, she approached the other girl, giving a "smile" as she approached, hoping that all the other smells would be enough to mask her. "Hey, nice costume," she commented, her wings holding perfectly still, as if they were simply attached to her back by a strap. "Best racoon outfit I've seen all night. In fact, the only one," she said simply, another smile coming onto her features as she said this. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - outfit: clicktags: kelly, open?!

Kelly turned to face the girl and couldn’t help but frown, finding it hard to return a smile, even one as forced as the one on this girls face. “Thanks”, she said slowly, letting her suspicion of this...what was she supposed to be dressed up as anyway? Some sort of modern angel? What angel wore a bandit mask anyway? “I like your wings...”, she said, forcing her eyes to narrow in a scrutinizing way so they wouldn’t widen as she realised just what this person was. Attack, screamed in her mind over and over again but she forced herself into a relaxed position and finally managed to get a weak smile onto her face. She twiddled with the hem of her shirt, willing this bird kid away. The last thing she needed was to make a scene on this crowded street. She let her eyes flicker to the park. If only she could get the bird over there, then they could have a proper fight without being seen.

The night was coming and Jetta had begun to feel at ease down on the streaks, surrounded by people who looked far worse than she did. That was the amazing thing about such large cities; no wonder what a freak you were, there was someone who was always weirder. Especially on Halloween. Scanning the masses, Jetta’s gaze was caught by a random flash of white. In the grey city colors as pure as that tended to stick out. Focusing on the owner of the white, Jetta realized that they were wings that belonged to Dakota, another girl she had met a little earlier. Fantastic!
Easing herself along the sidewalk and careful not to step in the grass, Jetta tried not to cringe as someone brushed her own exposed and darker wings. It was still strange to be able to expose them like this on Halloween without getting a second glance. As the people thinned and she padded deeper into the park toward Dakota, Jetta suddenly realized that she was accompanied by another creature. Or a raccoon? Vaguely, she wondered if this was just a costume or the white coats idea of a hilarious joke. Either way she was very aware of the switchblade she had tucked into her own boots, hidden beneath her cargo pants that almost matched Dakotas except for the chains and zippers. They were comfortable to Jetta and she found them conventional as well. Far more conventional than tight jeans that always slid to her ankles when she crouched, thanks to the impossibility of finding fitting jeans for long legs.
“Hello.” She said brightly, giving off an aire of confidence while managing to avoid looking snotty. She was mildly cautious about the unfamiliar girl, keeping her body turned away from her and remaining wary without being rude or even obvious. “Mi amigas, Dako!” She said in her terrible Spanish accent. Hell, it was fun to use! “You guys look ready to go trick-or-treating.” She said with a comfortable smile, looking Dakota up and down in appreciation for her get-up. She certainly looked a bit intimidating. Amusedly, Jetta wondered which people would give them candy and not call the police instead.

Dakota could sense that the girl knew she was a bird-kid, and her muscles tensed. If they created a scene, it would be all over the news. Not that Dakota didn't like making the front page, but it did draw the attention of the White Coats more often than just staying low. She was about ready to flee when she heard a bird- kid land nearby. A quick glance revealed that it was Jetta, and a smile lit up her face at the horrible Spanish accent. "Of course, but I will warn you. If you fly up to the door, they will realize those wings aren't just pasted on," she said with a tone of joking. Though nobody was walking real close by, eavesdroppers had to think that they were talking about the costume wings, and not thinking that they were real. That was mandatory. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - outfit: clicktags: kelly, jetta, open?!

Kelly slipped back wards, trying to meld through a pathway of trees in an attempt to get away from these people. It wasn’t that she couldn’t take them, it was just that this was one of the few times when she only wanted to have a fun like a normal human being and she didn’t want these annoying bird kids annoying her. She cursed as her back hit a thick tree and she realised that unless she grew wings and flew away, she was trapped. She suddenly went through a recount of everything on her body she could use as a weapon, what was on their bodies that could be used against them and what was on her body that could be used against her. Her hand crept up to her necklace and she gripped it lightly, getting ready to rip it off if necessary.

Jetta mock grimaced, wiggling her shoulders a little. It was unusual to have them out and not move them at all. Usually, if they weren't covered, most avians used them for balance or flared them as signs of fear or surprise or used them to show other emotions. "They might as well be." She shot back, amused. They felt pasted on when you could not move them!
Although Jetta was normally much, much more lighthearted, even more than then, she forced herself to relax, trying to put the stranger at ease. It was almost painful to watch how the girl cringed away from them, out of fear or hate or both she did not know. Smiling slightly, kindly, allowing a little bit of curiosity to show through. The girl's fur intrigued her. If only she would relax enough to join them, perhaps create a new ally if she wasn't a white coat minion. "Do you know her?" Jetta asked Dakota softly.

Dakota smirked as Jetta managed to move without her wings shifting in the least. But she kept an eye on the retreating Eraser she didn't know if she should be worried or happy about the figure trying to disappear. As Jetta leaned over and and asked if Dakota knew the girl, she gave a shrug. "I just met the girl when you landed. She's going to be on edge," she said simply, giving a smile towards the girl at the fringe of the woods. "She's definately an Eraser, but she wants to have a safe night, just like us," she said easily, giving a shrug. She turned to the Eraser at the woods. "We won't reveal you if you won't reveal us," she said simply, her tone warm and welcome, but she doubted that any tone of voice would effect the girl who was avoiding them. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - outfit: clicktags: kelly, jetta, open?!

Kelly stared at her for a few seconds. They seriously wanted to make an alliance? She looked from the light haired girl, then to the dark haired, then back. They both looked curious and...kind? It was hard to tell because they both looked uncomfortable due to their wings. Kelly turned to looked into the dark next to her then back, straightening up and wiggling her aching ears. She was having problems not moving her extra limbs as well. “Fine, just don’t think this alliance is going to last all night. I’d advise you to watch your back”. She pushed through the two, muttering under her breathe, “My pills don’t last more than a few hours”, then stalked across the dark park. She turned her head to the side slightly so she could hear the two bird kids behind her.
