Warm wind drifted through the trees as evening began its slow crawl. The first star peeked through the purple sky, above the tree tops. Alone, stood a girl of sixteen she sat at the bottom of an old oak tree that looked as if it didn't even belong in there. Her small frame was clad in a bright yellow and white tank top and a pair of short black shorts that came to about her middle-upper thigh. She wasn't wearing any shoes, but she didn't mind, she was happy to feel the gravel under her feet and she wasn't the least bit cold as she sat there reading an old book, the cover was tattered and the title was 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'.
After sitting there for a half hour, she looked up and smiled at the start shining down upon her. She was completely calm and for once feeling peaceful and happy. A feeling of giddiness filled her like a song as she set the book down and stand up, brushing the dirt from her clothes. She preceded to face the tree and climb upon the the lowest branches. She climbed higher and higher till she was a good ten feet off the ground, she stood on her tree limb, humming a pretty tune..

Fox had been walking through the forest, hands in his pocket, humming the tune he had just played on his trumpet back in the lab. He chuckled to himself, who ever heard of an eraser playing an instrument? Well, he thought, they do now. He laughed and continued walking, ignoring the crunching his boots were making on the ground
Fox paused as he heard a rustling in the trees and saw a brief shadow flash up a tree and then humming. Fox instantly tensed up, not sure whether or not the person was a foe or not. Fox slowly walked towards the tree and took a breath, a puzzled face crossing his expression. The person didn't smell human, birdish, or eraserish. The person smelt more like....Blood. Instantly, fox seized up even more and let a small growl escape his lips, he looked up into the tree, still tense, but hoping it didn't show, and called, "Hello? I know your up there. It could be dangerous!" Fox frowned as he heard the humming stop, not sure whether the person was going to attack or call back

Chelsea had been so distracted and spaced out, that she hadn't heard another person approach her. When a masculine voice called up to her, she spun around to see where exactly it was coming from and her footing slipped. Waving her arms in circles as she tried regain her balance, although, it was too late as she leaned too far backward. The air rushed past her as she dropped toward the ground, her eyes shut tightly, falling directly at the man below. Uh? Wha-waa ee!"

Fox watched as the person, no scratch that, the girl, looked down shocked at him and then lost her balance and fell backwards, falling towards him. Fox groaned, and then felt her fall on him, gasping in pain. Fox squirmed under her and gave a dry chuckle, "You ok?" He rasped, trying to breath under her.

She had fell on the guy. A guy. Her mind was freaking out. She scrambled to get off of his body and sat with her legs curled under her, not wanting to make eye contact with the guy she accidentally crushed. "Besides being extremely embarrassed? Fine."
She tucked the hair in her face behind her ears and bit her bottom lip. Looking at him him with a faint blush gracing her cheeks, she noticed something inhuman about him. It was familiar but she had forgotten what it was exactly.. " Sorry..how about you? "

Fox took in a huge breath as she scrambled off of him and breathed a sigh of relief, his vision clearing away the black and white spots in his sight. Fox slowly sat up and groaned, before chuckling at how she had replied to him. "Not so sure about the embarrassed thing seeing as you fell on me. But I'm fine." He said, quickly poking himself in the chest and ribs to assure himself that he was indeed OK.
Fox looked the girl up and over, noting that she was a couple years older than him, maybe 16. She looked different and smelled different though he didn't want to press it on her why she smelled different, maybe she would interpret it wrong, he thought and chuckled

She chuckled nervously and finally looked at him in the face with her icy-grey blue eyes. Pulling herself up onto her feet, she fixed her shirt and then held out a hand to help the guy up to. She wondered if he could tell she was different as well and decided she would try to find out what he was, now that it was pressing in her mind. " Here, let me help ya.."

Fox laughed and waved his hand, getting up himself and dusting off his pants. "You know, i always thought it was the other way around." Fox said, trying to keep his innocence up. He was still puzzled by this girl, why did she smell like blood and why was she so deep in the forest. He decided to ask the last question and said, "May i ask what your doing out here so deep in the forest?"

She pulled her hand back when he got up by himself and tucked her thumbs in the loops on her hips where a belt should go. "May i ask what your doing out here so deep in the forest?" She kept her smile on even though her brain went into overdrive trying to come up with something better than the fact that she had planned on sleeping here for the night, not exactly a great thing to tell strangers.. "Oh umm, well I just came here to read.. And hang out. How about you, why are you all the way out here?"

Fox watched as she tucked her thumbs into the hoops of her jeans and a continued smiling although it seemed she was thinking in overdrive. When she answered Fox saw she had indeed been reading a book, his vision picking up "A Mid-" and nothing else, seeing as it was to dark to see. Fox nodded secretly to himself, "Well, i couldnt sleep and i live in some apartments a few miles away so i decided to take a walk and here i am." Fox said, and shrugged. Fox frowned and blurted out before he could stop himself, "How come it smells like blood around you?" He quickly clamped his mouth with his hands, "Just ignore that comment." Fox said, waving his hands at her.

She mentally kicked herself for not covering her scent better, now that he mentioned the smell of the blood, ' darn...he knows...'. She waved her hands in a gesture of not being offended, which she wasn't in the least- just..Curious..It was silent for a moment as she thought of what to say to his outburst of a question. " I'll tell you my secret if you tell me why you smell like a wolf." One of her eyebrows raised as she smiled crookedly.

Fox frowned as she waved her hands, not sure why she was taking it so easily. His frown deepened as she asked him why he smelt like wolves and his mind reeled, trying to find an explanation. "Well, i really like wolves, so i have one as a pet?" Fox said, and then cursed himself for making the answer sound like a question, also annoyed by the smile she gave him as he shrugged hopelessly

She knew that the pet thing was lie, it was way to obvious- but who was she to force him to spill his secrets when they justmet literally a minute or two ago. She relaxed her face as she decided to let his excuse go. The was bleeding into a mix of purple and blue as more stars appeared and the moon raised. " Sorry, I didn't mean to push you into saying anything you want to.. By the way, my name's Chelsea."

Fox sighed in relief when she dropped it knowing that she didnt believe him just as he didnt believe her. Fox looked up and smiled at the sky as the moon came out and the stars started popping up. Fox looked back down as she began talking and smiled, "Nice to meet you Chelsea. The names Fox." He said, sticking his hand out to shake with hers, not sure if she would shake or not.

She reached out and shook hands with him, her hand feeling small in comparison. The night was still young in her mind, the dark was nothing as her eyes were accustomed to the night-setting, seeing as she spent so much time out then. Her lips played with a small, friendly, smile. " Nice name, so, I gotta ask you at least one more serious question.."

Fox nodded, withdrawing his hand from hers, chuckling at the fact that even though he was younger his were bigger, and indicated for her to ask her question. "Well, what is it?" he asked, stomping his feet which had suddenly fell asleep, trying to keep them awake after running all day.

Her white teeth showed as she cheerfully asked, " Is your hair naturally that color or do you dye it?" She asked jokingly as she tried to stay away from any awkward silences that always seemed to follow after meeting someone new. Her own hair was held back by a of thin braids and a clip keeping the top layers back.

Fox rolled his eyes, unconsciously touching his hair. "Nope, its naturally like this. Something to do with being engraved with an arctic wolf/fox." He said and chuckled before clamping his mouth with his hands again and groaned, why was he always so slippery tonged? "W-what i meant was that it runs in the family!" He said, hopping she hadn't caught what he had said and cursing himself for stuttering, what was wrong with him? He never stuttered!

She tried to hold back a laugh at how easily he let the truth slip, but a small snerk. She clamped her hand over her mouth and nose in a horrible try to hide it. Regaining her composer, she moved her hands behind her back, holding them together with fingers locked, and nodded yet again to his failure of a save. Deciding to let him get a bit of a clue to as to what she is she said in a calm voice. "You know, I know your not completely human right?...It's ok, I'm not either..."
She hoped he wouldn't be mad that she couldn't play along with the whole acting like a normal person anymore. But if he was upset now, hey, at least she tried to be friendly.

Fox laughed at the snerk that came out of her mouth as she slapped her hands over her mouth. He continued to laugh as she quickly regained her composure placing her hands behind her back. Fox stopped laughing when she said she knew that he wasent all human and that she wasnt too.
Fox sighed in relief, i was getting tired of the whole oblivious act and turned towards her, his eyes still looking like he was laughing at what he was about to say, "So what. Are you a vampire or something?" He asked, chuckling.
