Topaz sat on top of the building. Her feet dangled over the side. She watched the cars bellow go slowly by. Topaz sighed. Alone alone alone. In my silent little world... It's tiresom.... She thought. Her thoughts where the only thing she heard, seeing as she didn't hear at all. Topaz closed her eyes, everything around her became visible in her minds eye, Is that perhaps someone coming? She thought. Topaz shrugged, Eraser or Bird, it's better then nothing right?

Dakota was tired. It wasn't an 'Ohmaigawd, I'm going to fall off the edge of the earth right now' tired, but a 'I desperately need some rest'. She had just finished a flight around the state, looking for signs that someone was after her. The whole time, she felt like she was being followed. She ran into a whole lot of Erasers and she was about ready to die. She knew that if she ran into another Eraser, she wouldn't stand a chance. She nearly shouted with relief as she neared the Roof. Perfect. She landed, not really aware of the other person, and stumbled to the ground. She just layed there, before noticing that their was another girl their. "Hey," She said, giving a brief wave. She was SO tired.

Topaz turned to see a girl laying on the roof stop. She looked tired and a mess, One to many Erasers. Topaz thought flatly. She stood up and stretched out her long golden wings. Reaching into her bag she took out a sandwich and a water bottle. She knew for someone like her that's not a whole lot, but it was something right? She handed the water and food to the girl, all the time wearing the same emotionless face. Topaz sat down herself and nibbled on a ham sandwich.

Fox yawned as he hopped over roofs, jumping from one roof to another. It wasn't like running in the woods but it would have to do when he was in the city. He continued his escapade over the roof until he heard the two seemingly frantic heart beats of bird-kids, one slightly faster from exertion than the other. He stopped, curious to see who it was and started going in their direction until he landed on the roof, seeing two bird kids, both girls, one lying on the floor and eating a sandwich and drinking water while the other sat nibbling at her sandwich. Fox slowly walked over, not sure if he should attack yet and called, not noticing it was Dakota on the floor, "You two new to this territory and city?"

Topaz glanced up at the boy in time to catch him mouthing, 'You two new to this territory and city?'. Topaz wondered, Should I play the helpless deaf girl? Topaz decided she would. "I can't hear..." She muttered. That was the first thing she'd said all week. She never talked much, even when she was being herself. She was always unsure of her voice. She didn't even know what it sounded like. So she always stayed quiet. Now you might be thinking, 'Wait, how can she read lips???' Just wait, you'll see. Topaz put and sandwich away and stood up.

Dakota took the sandwich tentivaly and started nibbling on it. She wasn't really sure who this girl was, but she was positive that another bird-kid would try and poison another. She took the water too, and laid back down, sipping at it. Her mind was whizzing a hundred miles an hour, but she was really too tired to pick out one or another. She just barely heard someone else step onto the roof, and start talking. Though she could tell that someone was talking. She made out what they were saying, and her mind went double time. Eraser. She sighed. "No, been here a while now," She replied, not turning to face the Eraser. Let him attack, she didn't care. Gawd, she was tired.

A puzzled look crossed fox's face as she said i cant hear. "As in you deaf?" he asked, glancing at the person on the floor, noticing the blond hair, walked over and shook her, "you look dead Dakota. What happened to ya?" He asked, bending over and looking at her face.

Dakota sighed, brushing her hair from her face as she felt the presence lean over her after addressing the other bird-kid. She peeked one eye at him, and gave a small smirk. "Might as well be, you're stupid Eraser kind wants to get rid of me," She said tiredly, her eyes closed with a look of peace on her face. "You can't blame me, if you were in fight after fight after fight, you'd look like crap too," She said, a signature Dakota smirk on her face, and her eyes opening again. Their bright blue gaze turned from Fox to the other bird-kid. "Fox, bird-kid I just met. Bird-Kid, Fox. YAY!" She said, her voice laced with sarcasm, as she sat up, and pushed Fox away from leaning over her as she did so.

Topaz stared at Fox while the Bird-kid who was apparently named Dakota mouthed, "Fox, bird-kid I just met. Bird-Kid, Fox. YAY!" Topaz nodded to Fox shyly. Good. They both are as of now underestimating you. If need by take 'em by surprise and fight like heck. Fox watched the two, they clearly knew each other already. If they hadn't been watching Topaz would have face palmed herself. DUH they know each other! She just just told me his name!

fox shifted away as Dakota pushed him and glanced at the bird-kid, wondering if she posed a threat, seeing as she stiffened slightly as a thought crossed her mind. Fox chuckled and turned to the Bird-kid and said, "I presume your new around here?"

Topaz nodded slightly, "Yes..." Hm. He catches on quick I can see. I must be careful around him... Topaz turned and walked to the rim of the roof. She sat down facing the two with her wings spread out carelessly. Wait a minuet.... If I just replied to that- Idiot! What kind of deaf person replies to a direct question!? Well I guess he will understand I've been like this so long I just learned to read lips... Topaz sighed quietly enough for her self to hear but not the others.

Dakota smirked, easily folding her wings out as the other girl did. "So. I guess we're on equal terms, as long as Fox doesn't try to kill our friend, and he wouldn't do that because she's a pretty cool person," Dakota replied, giving him a perky smirk. This girl could obviously read lips, so this would be a pretty good conversation. "You are pretty new here, I haven't seen you 'round? You come from down south?".

Topaz nodded swiftly, "You could say that...." She spoke to Dakota but looked at Fox. Who is he? An eraser clearly but... A rough or something? And the fact that they know each other while both still being alive... Topaz turned to Dakota, "I would like to travel with you." She said simple. This was probably the most she'd said in... Around a month.

Fox smiled devilishly, showing his canine sharp teeth, "Wouldn't dream of it." he said, and turned to Topaz, hes suspicions that she could read lips was affirmed when she answered his question directly. He started at the statement she made and busted out laughing, "That sure was sudden!" He said and turned to Dakota, waiting for her response, still chuckling slightly. They both seemed like loners and they seemed to like each other, but would Dakota accept? He'd known her long enough to know she had lived her whole LIFE as a loner and it seemed she didn't want to change it so soon yet. He glanced back and forth between the two, waiting for one of them to talk.

Dakota jumped slghtly at the random, though rather serious question. She had never been asked something of the sorts, to have a flying buddy I guess you would call it, and she wasn't sure that she could deal with having to bring someone along with her. The swirls of emotions that came with the few arguments that went through her head were more than troublesome. She growled under her breath, shaking her head. "I'm sorry, but I fly alone. You wouldn't have a permanent residence, wouldn't have a flock, wouldn't be able to do anything, really. I'm not ready to put someone who has a choice NOT to be in that position, in it," Dakota's sure voice was rather cold, but you could tell that there was hidden sympathy in her words. She spoke the truth, and if someone didn't HAVE to be a loner, she wouldn't keep them stuck in that position forever.

Despite feeling it Topaz was glad she couldn't hear the cold sound of the girls voice. "Hm. Fine then." She said simple, not showing in the slightest her disappointment. She look at Fox, she made her eyes say "Don't even open that crack on your buttface". Topaz never cursed, she used almost silly terms instead of insults. She still found the insult buttface to be rather affective.

Fox shuddered at the coldness in Dakotas voice and turned to Topaz, pulling a fake face of hurt. He quickly smiled though and said, "Well, thats Dakota for ya. And ill try and keep my buttcrack shut."
