Maire saw the lights off the city, she was way out in the water, hovering above it. Her fingers skimmed it, as she flew to the city. She landed on the deck, and looked around, she started to walk toward where people where. She looked around, and was amazed, she had never been in the city before. "Wow." She wished there was someone like her around, so she would have someone like her to talk to. She kept on her walk, when she saw a few familiar people. She wasn't sure, but she was at the same time, that she knew those people. Erasers? Scientists? Bird-kids?

Night was relaxing in a tree, humming happily as she swung her leg that was hanging from the brach she was sitting on. "Wonder what Thane is up to... or what anyone fun is up to..." She suddenly got depressed by the thought of how lonely she was right now. How deprived and lonely she was. "Kamisama, I'm so bored..." She sighed in her depression, hoping something fun would come along...

Dakota wasn't used to being so surrounded by people. She knew that Erasers would use thsi kind of crowd against the bird-kids, but she wasn't scared to fly in front of people. She had done it for pay back in Tennessee, but what was bothering her was this sales man. She flipped a coin up into the air, catching it quickly and in one smooth motion flung it at the place behind the stand he was working. While he spung to see what happened, she grabbed an apple from the stand and melted into the crowd taking a bite out of it simply. She was on high alert, sensing the emotions around her for the violence of a Eraser, but she did sense something a bit more positive. Bird-kid. New to the area. She could feel the confusion and slight hope in some of the emotions near by.
She scanned the area and saw a girl with black hair walking around. She could tell the emotions were coming from her, and she started walking like she was just another person in the crowd, but as she walked by the girl, she bumped into her and passed a note into her hand easily, then continuing on a few steps before stopping. Dakota didn't know why she wanted to do something mysterious like that, but it was always enjoyable. The note was simple. do you have 'the wings'? it read, in a rather scrawled lettering, but if the girl did, she would be sure to turn and find her. She could see that girl she'd met, Night or something, in a tree nearby. Company wasn't her strong point, but at least she could help somebody with their way around, right? She wasn't the most helpful, but she wasn't heartless.

Marie was about to go up to the people she was watching, she had to know... Then she thought about it, What if they aren't? What if they are just people? Maybe it was just those types of people. People with the faces, that make you think you have seen them before... She looked at them for a moment, just as she was about to turn and leave Marie, felt the girl bump into her. Blond hair, long, shorter then Maire herself, and was about to say something to her, but she felt the the corner of the paper get pushed into her hand. Then the girl walked away. Marie read the note, she looked at it as she turned, like you would if you reading dirctions... How did she know I had them?, Marie thought, as she turned to follow the girl. She went with the flow of the people, to make her not look like an idiot running after someone. She walked faster then usual, to catching up with the girl. She must have them too, or wait... she could be an eraser too... but she doesn't smell like one. So she must be one of me... She got to the girl, and nodded, "Yes." Maire was on guard, just in case something was up. She wanted to read the girls thoughts, but it was more then hard to do with all these people around. She could hear so many thoughts it would be hard to focus on one persons thoughts. "You have them too?" What Marie said, no one would know that they were talking about, unless of course they could read minds...

Night wasn't a mind reader, she was and is more of a body reader. Psychology, wasn't her thing, peoples actual thoughts like word for word what they were thinking not her thing either, but when it came to noticing the small quirks that reveal how someone actually feels or thinks was hers, body language out of all the languages in the world, she believed body language was her most fluent language next to English and Japanese on her very long list of linguistic skills and tongues.
God... body language... it can tell you someone is lying, embarrassed, turned on, anything if you know it! I want a body to read so badly... preferably one I can read over and over again before bed time! Night was thnking before a slightly familiar scent came to her even through all of these people it was always the familiar scents that stood out. "Dakota..." She allowed herself to think aloud. "Now what are you doing in a crowded place like this..." Again Night said aloud as the familiar bird smell interupted her train of thought on compaionship.

Dakota had stopped, but the girl was faster at reading or walking, than she had expected. She gave a small smile as heard the girl turning easily as the other girl asked if she had them too. She wasn't really on guard, but then again, Dakota usually wasn't on-guard to the point it was recognizable. That was one thing that she had learned that she could actually recall. Don't bunch up your muscles ready to run, it looks suspicious. Look calm and collected, assess the other, and if something goes wrong, you already know the weaknesses. Dakota didn't like too compliment herself, but she did know that she was good at this kind of assessment. That was probably why she was still alive to to this point of her life. She knew how to read.
Being able to sense emotions probably helped a lot. She could feel the emotions from the other girl, she had tuned in so as too keep Night and this unknown girl in her radar. If there was an attack on them, she'd be ready within an instant. Erasers wouldn't attack random bystanders when they're targets were already at an disadvantage. She could feel confusion under each of the girls, but beneath this girls's, Dakota could tell she was on guard. She gave a small laugh, shaking her head. "Sweetie, if I didn't, you'd already be in the back of a black van with no windows," She said calmly. She had to admit though, the girl was smart to keep up her guard up until she knew more. For all she knew, Dakota was on the Eraser side, and vice-versa. "I'm Dakota."
As she said this, she started walking towards where she had noticed Night. She made an discreet motion towards Marie with a flick of her finger, telling her to follow. Safety was in numbers, if you didn't know your way around, and Dakota wasn't that heartless. She would make sure this girl at least knew her way around a bit and had some kindof protection until she got used to it. She wouldn't let the girl stick around her, since she wasn't much into the whole babysitting thing, but she wouldn't object to to just showing her the ropes and then letting her go on her own and having to find her if she needed help. Dakota was a loner, she would admit that to herself, but she knew with the quantities of bird-kids showing up, going solo all the time would be dangerous.
Dakota easily came upon the tree and jumped up to the first branch, swinging like she was a ninja up to where Night was, patting her acquaintance before going to a branch a little bit higher and on the other side of the trunk from Night. "Night," She said briefly, acknowledging the company in the tree. "New bird kid to the area, should be up here soon if she's got a keen eye," Dakota said lazily, lounging easily but such so people below wouldn't see her for the branches in the way. She didn't know why she decided to tell Night what she would see soon, but it would probably keep her from freaking out over something Night-ish. "Anyways, how are you?" Dakota continued to go on, trying to make small talk with her fellow bird kid.

"Eh... could be worst. I could be in a black van with no windows. But besides that I'm mostly just bored, lonely. I could use some company, though I would much prefer male company... if you know what I mean." She sighed and was going to ask about the new bird girl but could smell her heading this way and figured it would be pointless not to way and just ask the girl herself. "Well, though I don't judge gender I've been wanting a guy's company!" Night let out a frustrated sigh and just waited for the new girl to catch up.

Marie looked at Dakota, and followed her, only half willing. Dakota wasn't into babysitting, and Marie wasn't into being babysat. But, Marie wasn't an idiot, Dakota did know more of the City, while Maire had never even been to one before today. "I bet I would be...." locked in a van with windows? thats funny... Erasers... Stupid ugly creatures "I'm Marie, by the way." Maire followed her to a girl, Night. "Hiya. Wings you have? And yeah male company would be... better Do You know any around here?." Marie smiled, then looked at Dakota again, "Do-.... Can-... Have-..." Marie didn't know how to ask, in fear of sounding dumb. "Have erasers come here? I mean... will they attack in front of all these people?" She asked hoping she didn't sound as stupid as she thought she did. [glow=black,2,300]sorry, for copying you Dakota, I thought it looked better that way, it being centered like that[/glow]

Dakota nodded as the girl introduced herself as Marie, but didn't really like the fact that she said she betted she would be in a van with no windows. She hoped that if the Erasers did decide to attack that the girl could hold up for herself. The last this Dako needed was a dead weight. She watched as the girl seemed to answer to Night's ever tyrant of thoughts, and assumed the girl was a mind reader. Great, just what I need. As Marie turned her attention to Dakota and stumbled for words, Dakota's face was straight forward in concentration on the girl Marie's emotions. Right now, it seemed she was uncertain, and she gave a smirk. "Of course they would, but they'd be inconpicuous," Dakota gave a shake of her head. Was this girl not used to the Eraser's tact?
Dakota rested back against the trunk of the tree, dangling one foot down and resting her hands folded on her stomach. "They would probably attack from the rest of the trees, coming from the back," she said calmly, looking up through the branches. "They'd move quickly, since our hearing's better than most, and probably dispatch us as one unit," Dakota's voice was serious, and as she was speaking, it sounded like she knew what she was talking about. The two wouldn't know about her past at all. She swung her foot again, closing her eyes. "If we were in the crowd, they would think it was a stunt, and we wouldn't get any help. Taking to the skies would be against us, so we'd be taken down quickly and gone before people could get any information..."
Dakota looked back at Night and Marie, giving them a sideways glance, a rather cool and calm look on her face. "So, yes, Marie. Erasers would attack in front of all these people," She gave her a serious look. "If we get attacked, I hope you can fight. Fleeing is just what they want us to do," Dakota turned back towards the sky again, waiting for some source of response from any of the girls. Sure, all that tactic information and stuff may make them think she was on the Eraser side. Dakota was still glad to say she wasn't on their team. She wasn't even on a team. She fought when she was threatened, she killed if only absolutely needed, and otherwise she avoided company except for a bird-kid or a certain -cough- Eraser -cough-. She was one for solitude.
[ooc: it's fine. centering is something i've recently started doing.]

Marie looked at Dakota confused, "What certian Eraser? I didn't mean I would let myself be taken, I meant it as sarsacum, sorry." She looked around, "Will they come?" She half wanted an eraser to come, it was better then talking. She wasn't the social type girl, she didn't have the people to be social with. But she didn't want them to come either, that could mean death, or possibly very injured.
"You read emotions?" Marie asked Dakota.
"Male company? Know any?" Maire said to Night, who was being too silent.

She looked at the new bird with a slightly too suspicious facial expression. "Yes, but they're busy... not here... or dangerous company..." Then she turned away and went back to her own thoughts and being quiet and secretly paranoid, for all we know she could be black mailed into spying on us or just being paid with not being killed the hell if we can be sure...

Dakota gave Marie a sideways glance as she said 'what certain Eraser' and her gaze instantly narrowed. If the girl was this good at reading minds, then she really had to be careful about what she was thinking. "A rogue Eraser. He's not really with the Whitecoats anymore, and he's the only one of the Eraser's I've run into that could take me down," She said briskly, sending a silent message of finality through her voice's tone. As Marie continued to say that she meant her earlier comment as sarcasm, and Dakota rolled her eyes and said nothing on the matter until she spoke up again and asked if they would come. She could feel a bit of worry in the girl, and Dako sighed. "If we knew when the Erasers would attack, then there wouldn't be a problem, correct?"
That was the thing about Erasers. They were completely unpredictable and restless. Even hanging out with her Eraser friend was dangerous, since the tinest of things could set him off into a bloodrage. Unfortunately, Dakota liked living on the edge, knowing that she could be dead the next day because of a mistake. She had concluded to live life brightly, or in her case on the edge of insanity. Dakota had danced on the edge of the world for some time, but she wasn't affraid of falling. It was a confusing thing, to anybody who would be trying to understand what she was doing, why she was so reckless, but unless you'd been strung out the ways that she had, been told of love and been lied to so strongly, you wouldn't understand why she enjoyed it so much.
Dakota glanced over at Night as she spoke towards Marie about her 'male company'. Particularly, Dakota didn't like hanging out with guys because they were complicated, and she didn't have time to just hang out. She was alone because the solitude gave her peace, but that didn't mean she wouldn't run headfirst into a fight at the first chance she could get. As said before, she was one to rush into things without thinking about the ultimate concenquences. It was dangerous, but that was how she rolled. She could feel a bit of suspicion from Night, and she knew that Marie could very well just be a decoy, but she could tell that she wasn't. Unless, she had been trained to hide all emotions of hostility. As Marie asked if she could read emotions, she simply nodded.

Marie couldn't help roll her eyes at Dakota, "I meant- Oh never mind. And I'm being paid or blackmailed to spying on you. That would be a waste of my time....
So who is the eraser? He's not with the whitecoats, then who is he?"
