I really like the picture, Ki. It's very nice for a first try. Keep up the good work. Sorry I don't have much to say. I think I have writers block. >_<

My wrist kind of hurts now, but I'm glad it turned out fairly nicely. I used my mom's laptop which is tablet enabled and drew my first tablet attempt on MS Paint (of course). I guess you can say it's Jin Ae with brown eyes in a ponytail, but I don't care much about who's this girl in particular. Of course, practice makes perfect. I'll probably do another attempt on the tablet someday.

You are getting really good Ki!
I love how you have the facial structure down VERY nicely. And the bangs are cute. I wish I could do those. Ever tried shadowing?

^ Shading isn't quite my forte just yet. I did some as an art class project and had gotten one of the highest scores in my class. But I'm kind of intimidated by shading in general actually since I'm not entirely sure where it would look best to shade. ._.;

That's a really good drawing for a tablet. The colors work nicely together, and I like how you made teh hair look un-cartoonish. It's very nice. I'm glad your trying different things, because when you do, all that happens is you get better and better. WHOO!

It's something I edited within a few minutes. Nothing is of my work so no drawing/comp pics of mine this time. I'm bored and spazzed enough to have this made. I'm a fangirl who keeps making this statement when the opportunity comes and be a spaz about it. Heh. Obviously, the one on the right is manhwa-fied Fang. The one on the left is his long lost brother Yu Kanda from D.Gray-Man, the series the fanclub I'm in is dedicated to and what I made Jin Ae for. It's Fang's manhwa look that's the sole reason how I even heard (and quickly later on loving) D.Gray-Man in the first place. I mean, look at them! Even their expressions are the same! I can't necessarily say that they could be long lost twins for technicality reasons. Mostly because Fang's only 14 while Kanda's 18. But I'll pretend that Fang aged four years so I can say that they can be long lost twins anyway. XDDD

Now for my ACTUAL drawing! (Yes, I do understand the lines are a bit hard to see. Blame my scanner for its crappiness that doesn't pick up the details completely. Trust me, it's much better seen in real life. >> ) It's for a contest for 8th grade art students at my school. Since graduation's literally right around the corner, we are to design the front of the program for graduation. So I decided to enter. And my entry features our very own Max, Fang, and Iggy. Also included, my other bird-kid OC, Luna! They're being featured as the school's mascot, the buccaneers! The flag is for the information at the front like, "Bowditch Middle School Graduation program" or something like that. So Iggy's the one holding the flag as he wraps his arm around Luna. Fang, the first mate of this "crew," is amused watching his twin sister and Iggy enjoying themselves. And then you see Max, of course, the captain of the crew, tipping her pirate hat as a well done. They all have their diplomas with them. Obviously, I based off of Max and Iggy's looks from the actual manhwa adaptation of the series. Luna, I had gotten from a completely separate pic I found on photobucket with a companion pic where it has a guy I imagine to be Fang. I didn't really want to draw Fang's manhwa look for reasons of being questioned if Fang's really a guy or not. *sweatdrop* I am extremely happy with this one. Not only there's a good chance of my entry being picked, but it's also the very first pic that I have done a group drawing. I had NEVER done anything other than doing only one person so I was afraid I could have even more of a hassle if I did four people. As it turned out, I didn't feel too stressed out about it and it came out GREAT!!! :'D

I don't have to warn you guys anymore of my crappy scanner, do I? Jin Ae: "Kanda, a kitty's not THAT bad." Kanda: "Not if that thing chews on my Mugen*." Jin Ae: "It's your birthday present from me! Would you rather have this or a cake where half of it is mostly sweet frosting?**" Kanda: "..." Jin Ae: "I thought so. So, what are you gunna name her?" Kanda: "Does it matter?!" Jin Ae: "Yes! <3" *Mugen is the name of his katana Innocence weapon. **Kanda has an extreme hate of anything remotely sweet. June 6th (today) is Kanda Yuu's Birthday!! I need to put up something quick before I go to my friend's b-day party (today's two times the fun! ^^) so I'll probably have time to do some coloring on the comp once I'll get back. I started this yesterday during school. It was the last period, aka Phys.Ed. Since it's very close to the end of the school year and we cleaned out our lockers the day before, we have free time to do whatever we want. I decided to draw, of course. Initially, I wanted to do some meaningful picture of Luna looking at a mirror or something like that. Somehow, I ended up drawing Jin Ae with Luna's hairstyle. ._. After that, I planned for her to walk as the wind is blowing against her (inspired by the semi-windy weather that went on during the period) and she's playing with a Yo-yo, in consideration that I might change her Innocence (AGAIN) to a Yo-yo because it was said to have used as a weapon pre-Spanish colonization times in the Philippines. (Though, it would be a bit weird having a Korean character who wields a weapon that originated from a completely different country. Since D.Gray-Man is set in the Victorian Era, it'd probably make much more sense to have Jin Ae's Innocence something relating to her homeland.) Anyway. I thought it'd be much more cuter (and less time) if I just made a small chibi-doll Kanda in the clothes that he wore in one arc in the manga. (That thing on his cheek is a vein mark *sweat*) As you can definitely see, Jin Ae decided to get Kanda a kitty because even a brooding samurai with a PMS problem needs a pet that can lower his blood pressure. XD The idea came from a oneshot fanfic I found somewhere in the nets where I think Kanda even named the kitten Sakura. I'll probably put up my version of the oneshot in the Your Stories section later in the evening. But right now, I must get ready for my friend's b-day party. ^^

^ Thanks. But the thing was, I didn't even win. XD The winning entry, apparently, was made by someone from the Special Education class at my school named Giovanni Martinez. It wasn't necessarily "OMG. Super amazing!" but it was sweet, nonetheless. Though, I didn't got my entry back after grad, frankly. ._.;

Fun, fun stuff. ^^ I ... I can't believe I didn't bother to use the auto-fix option on Photobucket before. It's my hero now. The very faded pic is before the auto-fix button. The much more prominent one is after the auto-fix button with my name on for recognition (even though you can't really see it. :sweat: ) So, I made this for someone in one of the guilds I'm in on Gaia Online. She requested for some avi art and even provide a tip. Since her avi's very simple to do (save for a couple items that she said we have the option of not drawing them), I decided to work on my art skills even further. And look what I managed to make in an hour INCLUDING coloring?

So this is for Gaia Online. My avi doubles as an OC of mine, named Freya Sirad, and this is basically her back in her school days. Gaia has a back-to-school event going on so I decided to make some art to correlate with the theme. I can only do colored pencils if there's any coloring whatsoever with my drawings. It looks kind of grainy merely because of the texture my sketch book, which is where I do nearly all of my drawings you have seen on here.

I uploaded this as a black and white photo to see how it would look since I didn't color this at all and only used my amateurish shading skills. So out of sheer boredom and wanting to further improve my drawing skills, I've been following Mark Crilley on YouTube for a few months now but it wasn't until I say an hour ago that I finally decided to follow one of his tutorials and it was how to draw a realistic female manga face. Of course, it's not necessarily the EXACT copy of his drawing since there's differences that fits to how I draw and my style a bit. But I'm still giving credit to Mr. Crilley for providing great tutorials and as the original creator of the drawing. The crazy thing about my drawings in general is that most of the eyes that I draw are first attempts and experiments with how to make them more "life-like." ... This is one of the attempts 'cause you can obviously see how the eyes in this pic are much different than the other ones in this thread.

Thats the best picture I've seen yet. How long did it take you? Those eyes are amazing. They look very life-like.

^ It takes just as long as I would with normal head shots. So, I guess somewhere around 10 minutes just to sketch out the general idea (this is purely from guess estimation since I usually draw head shots during my English class at school and I'm able to do them fairly quickly without much effort.) and another 10-15 minutes to get the details down because I DID give effort in this. So, it's around half and hour including the times that I have to go back remembering what Mark Crilley did.

Ooh. I love the eyes. I'm not an artist, so I have no clue how to draw a human very well, so I am envious! It's an awesome picture, so keep up the good work and draw draw draw!

Thought I'd show you guys my first WIP. (Click on the pic for a much larger version.) I decided to give Paint.Net another go and attempt to finally start coloring on the comp without the help of bases and whatnot. This is Freya in her Halloween costume. The WIP only shows her bust shot while the one I sketched out is full body but I haven't traced the outline of the entire thing just yet. I'll have her in her normal day clothing soon enough once this is done.

Still not the finished product! The colors look flat right now. So some shading and cleaning up in the future will have this pic as finished.
