"I'm walking with my grandmother, just a normal day, like any other time we were walking through the vast forest behind our small cottage-like home. She was naming all of the different flowers, trees, and herbs, too many to count, I could never remember that many." Thought a teenage girl, Her name was Artemis. Suddenly, she was crying, her vision got blurry, everything went black.
The phone rang. "Hello" Artemis answered in a melancholic tone, the phone line was too quiet. Beep, Beep, Beep! Whoever had called her had pit the phone up to a really loud alarm clock. The beeping stopped. "Hey", With that Artemis knew who it was, the only person who would do this so early in the morning her friend Sara. Artemis was peeved, Sara had woken her up from a non-scary dream. Ever since her grandmother had passed away she had been having reoccurring nightmares of the hospital where she had seen her grandmother for the last time, it was a rare experience for her to have a "good dream". But then again Artemis didn't believe in bad and good dreams , just inspiring ones.
"Come over" Sara was still begging after an extraordinarily long argument, especially on a school day. "I can't I have school." Artemis stated, "ditch school you're not learning anyhing. You shouldn't have to go when you can learn anything you need to know from books or the Internet, and besides you know to much it's scary." Sara remarked. "I don't know that much". "What's the capital of-". But Artemis had already hung up, she didn't have time to pay attention to trivial questions, she had to get ready. Today will be great, she repeated to herself.
"Ouch" Artemis had tripped on her way to school and skinned her arm, "just another day" she murmured to herself, which was true she could trip on just about anything, even her own two feet. School was boring except her arm bleeding, she debated going to the nurse but she didn't, going to the nurse for something that stupid, and unnecessary was so immature, so she suffered through the day. When she got home she almost didn't recognize her own home.
"Why is there a red truck in my driveway!?" She thought franticly.
